Job Overview:
The Production/Fabrication Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day manufacturing, fabrication, assembly and shop-floor execution of centrifugal blowers and industrial fans, ensuring production is completed as per approved drawings, quality requirements and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production & Fabrication
Supervise fabrication of blower casings, impellers, bases, supports and other components.
Allocate work to welders, fabricators, fitters and helpers.
Ensure production follows approved drawings.
Monitor cutting, bending, welding, grinding, machining and assembly activities.
Maintain production schedules and daily progress.
2. Assembly
Supervise blower/fan assembly.
Check shaft, impeller, bearing, coupling and base assembly.
Ensure correct clearances and component fitment.
Coordinate with Design/Technical Engineer regarding drawing-related issues.
3. Quality Control
Verify dimensions and fabrication quality.
Check weld quality and workmanship.
Ensure proper alignment of rotating components.
Coordinate dynamic balancing of impellers/rotors.
Identify and rectify fabrication defects before final assembly.
4. Shop-Floor Management
Manage daily manpower allocation.
Maintain discipline and housekeeping.
Ensure availability of tools, welding equipment and consumables.
Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
Ensure safe working practices.
5. Testing & Dispatch
Coordinate trial assembly and testing.
Ensure vibration and mechanical checks are completed.
Coordinate with Testing/Quality Engineer before dispatch.
Ensure equipment is properly packed and protected for transportation.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma – Mechanical / Fabrication / Production Engineering
Experience
3–8 years in heavy fabrication, industrial equipment manufacturing, blower/fan manufacturing, rotating equipment or structural fabrication.
Skills
Drawing reading.
Welding/fabrication knowledge.
Basic measurement instruments.
Production planning and manpower handling.
Rotating equipment assembly.
Basic knowledge of dynamic balancing.
Industrial safety.
